Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder - Resources

What it is:

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is characterised through serious mood and physical symptoms that happen in relation to the menstrual cycle. To be diagnosed with PMDD, an afab (assign female at birth) person needs to have at least five of symptoms during the week before their period. Symptoms should get better within a few days after their period starts and be little or not present in the week after their period ends. This disorder significantly impacts a person’s quality of life, which is different to the impact a regular menstrual cycle has on afam folks. This is different to, but can be comorbid with, gender dysphoria.
